Vehicle Tracker
A plug-in GPS tracker is an ideal way to keep tabs on a driver’s location and behind-the-wheel performance. Increasingly, they’re being used by concerned parents to monitor an inexperienced teen driver, and by family members who want to keep an eye on vulnerable seniors. All of the trackers here let you see the location of a vehicle on a digital map, review trip histories to see where the car has been driven, and receive notifications when the car leaves or arrives at predetermined areas (called geofences). They can also send various alerts if the tracker detects things like speeding, hard braking, or rapid acceleration. Some can even detect if the car has been in a crash and notify you or other contacts automatically. All of these trackers can be easily plugged into a car’s OBD-II diagnostic port (see FAQ), and transmit data via a cellular data network, which requires a monthly or yearly subscription fee.
